        What is seaweed salad? 

Seaweed salad is specially a salad of japan which is made of wakame. This is a perfect recipe to start your morning also.

It is healthy and usually served as a starter in japanese restaurant and sushi bars. 

This is very easy to make at home.

 This is full of flavours like soy sauce, sesame seeds and many other ingredients are used in this recipe.

 This recipe just needed few couple of bowls and hot water for this recipe.

The tangy dressing added in the soaked wakened, agar strips and wood ear mushrooms makes it great.

Ingredients for making wakame salad recipe 

               For salad 

1) Dried wakame - 20 gm

2) Wood ear mushroom - 4 gm

3) Agar strips (Kanten) - 5 gm

              For dressing 

1) Sugar - 1 1/2 tbsp

2) Vinegar - 1 tbsp

3) Sesame oil - 1 tbsp

4) Roasted sesame seeds - 1 tbsp 

5) Korean pepper powder - 1/4 tsp

6) Say sauce - 1 1/2 tbsp

Directions for making wakame salad 

1) Take a bowl and soak 4 gm mushroom in hot water (140°F or 60°C) for 30 minutes.

2) Take another bowl, first cut the agar strips into small pieces and soak it in hot water (100°F or 38°C) for 30 minutes. 

3) Take one more bowl and soak 20 gm dried wakame in cold water for 5 - 6 minutes. 

4) For salad dressing

  Take a large bowl and put sugar, vinegar, say sauce, sesame seeds and Korean pepper powder in it and mix it well with chopsticks.

5) After 5 - 6 minutes, first drain out the water of wakame and rinse the soaked wakame in clean water and squeeze the excess water from it. 

6) After 30 minutes, drain out the water of agar strips and rinse it in the clean water and drain out the clean water and set it aside. 

7) After 30 minutes, drain out the water of wood ear mushroom and rinse it in the clean water and squeeze out the excess water. 

8) Cut the mushrooms into very thin strips and also cut the carrot into thin strips. 

9) Preparation of salad

  Take a bowl and put soaked wakened, agar strips, thin strips of mushroom and thin.    strips of carrot in it. 

  Add the dressing from the top on the salad and mix all the ingredients with chopsticks.

10) Let it sit in the fridge for 30 minutes to 1 hour or overnight before serving.

   This will make the salad to absorb the taste of sauce.
